  • Non-Commercial
  1. This permission is granted for the specific research project described above and for research purposes only.
  2.  A Material Transfer Agreement (MTA) is required for the export of genetic resources from Lao PDR. In addition, a copy of the sample information, as approved by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, must be submitted to the ABS Authority for registration of each export throughout the duration of the project. 
  3.  Researchers are also required to share research findings and publications with the local project partner and the ABS Authority and to appropriately acknowledge the provider of the genetic resources. 
  4.  If any subsequent research or experiments involving the genetic resources or their associated Digital Sequence Information (DSI) are intended for commercial purposes, the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD), France, must notify the Lao ABS Authority and the local project partner in advance. A new Access and Benefit-Sharing (ABS) agreement must be negotiated and concluded prior to commencing such activities.
  5. The applicant must acknowledge the Lao People’s Democratic Republic as the country of origin of the genetic resources in all research outputs, publications, and databases generated from or utilizing the associated Digital Sequence Information (DSI). 


The collected genetic resources and samples may not be accessed, shared, or transferred to any third party without the prior permission of the resource provider and the Lao ABS Authority.
